SAFETY:

Fire Extinguisher Location: Below the kitchen sink, by the BBQ outside, in the guest king bedroom closet, and in the primary suite closet.

First Aid Kit Location: First floor bathroom.

Flashlights: In each bedroom night stand.

Emergency: Dial 911 or Cottage Hospital ER* 400 West Pueblo St.* 805-682-7111

Hospital directions from Carpinteria: Take the 101 Freeway North. Exit at Pueblo St. and turn right (towards the mountains). Look for Emergency room signs.

TELEVISIONS:

Living Room: To turn on TV, hold down on the Cox cable remote power button for 5 seconds. This will turn on both the TV and the cable box. The TV should already be set to Cable. If not, press the Source button until HDMI (x) is highlighted. Use the Cox remote to access Channel guide, DVR etc.

Primary Bedroom: This is a “Smart TV” and has functions on the Vizio remote that will activate features such as Netflix, Amazon and other available applications. Push the button of the service you wish to use. For Netflix etc., you will need to sign-in using your own account. Remember to sign out at the end of your stay.

GAMES:

Located in the cabinets underneath the TV in the living room.

FIREPLACES:

Turn gas on and press ignitor button on the right side of the fireplace. Please make sure that gas is turned off on all fireplaces before leaving the home.

CENTRAL HEATING:

The thermostat is located near the kitchen and in the master bedroom. Please turn heating off prior to your departure. Please note that this house does not have Air Conditioning. The ocean breeze usually provides a comfortable house temperature. There are fans throughout the house for use on especially hot days.

PARKING:

There is garage parking for two cars. Two additional cars may park in front of the garage doors in the driveway. Street parking is allowed but do not park overnight in the beach parking lot as the city will tow your car. Street cleaning is on Tuesdays—please observe street signs in order to avoid parking tickets.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING:

Trash and Recycling bins are located on the left side of the home as you face the front door. The trash and recycling are picked up every Thursday morning.

LAUNDRY:

Laundry Room: Located in the garage, key provided. Guests are free to use the laundry between 10am-3pm daily. Any other times are a “first come first serve” basis. Please be courteous with laundry use as these machines are shared with long-term tenants. Please do not overfill the washer, especially with towels. Please do not leave laundry unattended for extended periods of time.

Ironing: Iron and ironing board are in the primary suite closet.

CLEANING:

Downstairs Kitchen Closet: Shark vacuum, broom, and dust pan & brush

2nd Floor King Bedroom Closet: Dyson wireless vacuum and attachments

OUTDOOR AREA:

Landscaping: A weekly service is provided on Tuesdays

Propane Barbecue: Open lower cabinet, turn propane tank valve to “open” and turn dial all the way open. Ignite burners using dials. TURN OFF burners completely before leaving the barbecue area. TURN OFF propane tank when done with the barbecue. Please only replace the BBQ cover after the BBQ is completely cool

Recreational Items:

· Beach chairs and beach umbrellas are located on the beach deck

· Beach towels are in a basket in the Living Room

· Boogie Boards are in the Garage

Teak Furniture: Please do not move teak furniture onto the sand—this furniture must remain on the deck. In case of high winds, please bring any seat cushion to an area where they will not be blown away.

Outdoor Umbrellas: In the case of high winds, please close and secure the umbrellas. It may be necessary to remove them from their stands and place them on the ground.

Outdoor Shower: The outdoor show is non-operable.

Beach Tar: Beach tar is naturally occurring in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. All walks or trips to the beach will result with some tar on your feet or gear. There is a tar removal kit located on the beach deck. Olive or coconut oil are also great for removing tar if you want to avoid chemicals. Please be aware, if you do not clean the tar from your feet, you will be responsible for the damage to rugs, bedding etc. PLEASE NEVER WASH ANYTHING WITH TAR ON IT. The tar will spread to your entire laundry load and adhere to the inside of the dryer. You must always manually remove tar from a garment or towel with oil prior to washing in a machine.

BLISS RULES

GUEST RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES:

This rental home receives continuous maintenance and attention. All appliances should be in working order and all furniture, linens, and towels should be clean and stain free. Please report any stained, damaged, or non-operational items within 24 hours of your arrival or you may be charged for their replacement.

NO SMOKING:

Please do not smoke anywhere on the property at any time. This includes the outdoor spaces of the deck and balcony. Evidence of smoking will result in the loss of your entire security deposit.

NO CANDLES OR OPEN FIRES:

Candles, open fires, and unattended fires are not allowed at any time on the property or beach. We appreciate your respect and thank you for your strict compliance in this time of drought in California.

QUIET HOURS:

Please be respectful of our neighbors and our continued positive relationship. Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am every day. Complaints will result in the loss of your security deposit.

SERVICE ANIMALS:

This home does not allow pets. Please do not leave service animals unattended in the house. Please be respectful of your neighbors and always pick-up after your service animal. Please be transparent about any damage that your service animal does to the house and be willing to pay for fixing any damage done by your service animal to the house or its furniture.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE

o Check-out time is 10am. We need this time to be able to meet our rigorous cleaning protocols and ensure the spaces is immaculate for our next guests

o Please load and run the dishwasher upon departure

o Please turn-off all lights and electronics

o Please turn-off the heater

o Please close all windows and lock all doors.

If you have extra time and can start a load of towels prior to your departure, that greatly helps our cleaning staff.
